This region is vital to the national economy, as it accounts for approximately 85% of all strawberry cultivation in the country. The unique geography of Mahabaleshwar, situated at an altitude of over 1,000 meters, provides a long and cool growing season that typically runs from November to May. This climate is ideal for the growth of the Fragaria × ananassa, the most common cultivated strawberry species.
