Removing a background in Canva Pro is a simple process that allows you to isolate subjects for professional marketing or e-commerce designs. To begin, upload your image or select one from the Canva library. Once the image is on your canvas, click on the photo to open the toolbar above the editor. Select the Effects option and then click on the Background Remover tool. This feature uses AI to automatically detect and remove the background with a single click.
If the automatic removal is not perfect, you can use the manual fine tuning tools. Click on the Background Remover icon again to access the Eraser and Restore brushes. The Pixel Eraser allows you to manually remove unwanted areas or restore parts of the original background to ensure a clean edge. While this feature is specifically designed for images, Canva also provides tools to manage video backgrounds directly within the editor.
